Position Summary

Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial and accounting information by overseeing the recording, analysis, and reconciliation of transactions, as well as preparing comprehensive financial reports for management and regulatory purposes. Actively contributes to financial planning through budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals, accounting standards, and internal policies. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to both operational and strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accounting transactions in compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP).
  • Reconcile accounting and bank accounts.
  • Participate in monthly and annual accounting closings.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and accounting reports.
  • Analyze financial statements to assess economic performance.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely delivery of required documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management.
  • Conduct variance, trend, and financial KPI analyses to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Design and maintain financial models, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Monitor budget compliance and propose adjustments.
  • Generate planning reports for executive leadership.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, risk management guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent) is a plus.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, or related roles.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or commodities sector is preferred but not required.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling, data visualization).
  • Familiarity with financial planning, reporting, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Odoo, NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan).
  • Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to partner with cross-functional teams to support decision-making.
  • Self-learner with initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High degree of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of U.S. tax and accounting legislation.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Experience in accounts receivable, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Knowledge of accounting estimates, intercompany transactions, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Experience in financial modeling, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting methodologies.
  • Experience in cost and margin analysis, KPI design, and strategic performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SQL) is a plus.
  • Exposure to multinational or cross-border financial operations is a plus..
