Position Summary

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for collecting specialized data, developing analytical projects and preparing documentation related to regulatory compliance. The role focuses on identifying the general, corporate, and specific CFE regulations applicable to CFE International, supporting the fulfillment of regulatory obligations, mitigating compliance risks, and ensuring the preparation and submission of reports to the regulatory authorities in the energy sector. This position requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to interpret and apply complex regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage activities required to obtain or renew permits required by industry regulators and coordinate, together with the responsible areas, the submission of reports to U.S. authorities related to natural gas trading activities.
  • Draft and review internal norms and interpretation criteria (excluding risk policies).
  • Design and implement strategies for disseminating and training employees on internal norms and compliance matters, including the preparation of training materials.
  • Draft and review reports, memos, and corresponding documents in response to compliance internal inquiries.
  • Prepare periodic evaluations of the company’s compliance program, in accordance with the standards established by U.S. agencies. Participate in the due diligence processes.
  • Monitor the compliance of the internal norms and the applicable regulations within the Company.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective or preventive actions to mitigate regulatory risks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, operations, finance) to ensure alignment with compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor´s degree in Law, related fields or Data Science.
  • Compliance-related certifications such as CCEP or CFE are a plus.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in equivalent positions.
  • Experience in the energy sector, regulatory agencies, or compliance functions is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Legal and/or regulatory expertise in the natural gas sector in the United States and Mexico.
  • Energy industry knowledge in Mexican and North America.
  • Understand and apply corporate compliance policies.
  • Ability to research, draft reports, policies, and compliance documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Excellent written communication skills for drafting policies and regulatory documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
