Position Summary
The Operations Analyst records and monitors commercial transactions, maintains contractual data in company systems, and consolidates operational information to support decision-making. The role also troubleshoots discrepancies, improves internal processes, and coordinates documentation across the Operations Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Record all natural-gas commercial transactions in the company’s internal information systems.
- Enter and update contractual terms and conditions for supply, transportation, and optimization agreements.
- Verify that each transaction aligns with its contractual and commercial terms before posting.
- Generate and archive supporting documents (purchase-and-sale confirmations, amendments, etc.).
- Ensure contracts and related records are backed up, stored, and searchable in designated platforms.
- Investigate root causes of data or volume discrepancies; track and close them with counterparties.
- Compile regional activity reports and performance metrics for internal and cross-functional use.
- Support the creation and continuous improvement of standard processes and procedures.
- Assist operational staff with accurate data entry and system usage; provide quick troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with Finance to facilitate timely payments and collections tied to operations.
- Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage during critical periods.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in data entry, reporting, or database management in a transactional environment.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency with information systems for transaction recording and basic data integrity checks.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills; ability to produce accurate spreadsheets and documents.
- Solid analytical thinking and attention to detail when reconciling large data sets.
- Effective written and verbal communication for coordinating with internal teams and counterparties.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays; maintain composure under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the natural-gas industry and related transaction-management software.
- Experience with risk-management or energy-trading information systems (e.g., ETRM platforms).
